BIRD HUNTING & TRAIN ITINERARY

First Day:

Arrival Day, transfer from airport to Plaza Inn Deluxe Hotel

Welcome Cocktail & Dinner at Owen Steak House Restaurant

Second Day:

5:00 AM Breakfast at Owens Steak House Restaurant

5:30 AM Morning Duck Hunt journey begins on an air boat taking you to the dry blinds that blends in with its surroundings.

12:00 PM Lunch at Hacienda Sinalopato

2:00 PM Afternoon Dove Hunt begins for White Wing & Mourning Dove 

6:30 PM Return from hunting

7:00 PM Dinner at Owens Steak House Restaurant 

Third Day:

Same program as the second day (Hunting order may be changed due to conditions).

Fourth Day:

( All Aboard ‘Chepe’ Train )

5:30 AM - Wake Up Call, Breakfast at Plantation Buffet Restaurant, then go to the Chepe train station

7:00 AM -  Train departs for the ride heading to the Posada Barrancas train station to take you on a train ride on an inspiring journey. The train rail construction took more than 100 years to complete.

You will travel from sea level to nearly 8,000 feet altitude, while you enjoy going through 86 tunnels and crossing 37 bridges.

2:00 PM (Approximately) - Arrive at Mirador Train Station & welcomed by staff of Mirador Hotel to escort you to the hotel

6:00 PM there will be a welcoming cocktail as part of our enjoyable happy hour.

This afternoon you can explore this spectacular area on the walking tour that the Hotel Mirador provides. Spend two nights at this unique hotel on the rim of the Copper canyon.

 

Fifth Day:

Breakfast buffet

9:00 AM - private van to an excursion to the lumber town of Creel; box lunch included Sightsee Creel, stroll around Indian crafts shops, tour the Valley of the Monks, see the unusual rock formations of this unique valley, visit XVIII Century Cusararé Jesuit Mision, experience the culture of the Tarahumara Indians by visiting one of their caves, and see Arareco Lake.

Return to the hotel, relax in the clean, fresh alpine air, and prepare for dinner.

 

Sixth Day:

Posada Barrancas – Hotel Mision (Cerocahui)

Breakfast 

9:00 AM -  tour to the Balancing Rock, the three Canyons Overlook Point, and to "Parque Barrancas,"  2 1/2 hour experience at Copper Canyon 

Lunch

After lunch, journey to the picturesque village of Cerocahui and check in at Hotel Mision Cerocahui, visit "El Tehuecado" Tarahumara Girls Boarding School, the XVII Century Jesuit Mision of Cerocahui, continue on to the Hotel Mision Wine Tour.

6:00 PM - Happy Hour with wine made at our vineyards and

Dinner

 

Seventh Day:

Hotel Mision (Cerocahui)

7:00 AM to 8:30 AM - Breakfast Buffet

Tour to "Gallego Mountain" to the Urique Lookout peak; return for lunch

Walking or horseback riding tour to the Cerocahui waterfall

6:00 PM - Happy Hour, followed by dinner

 

Eighth Day:

Breakfast Buffet

Brief walk around the town; re-board the Copper Canyon Train

Arrive at El Fuerte train station, van ride to transfer to the colonial town of El Fuerte, founded in 1564 by the Spanish Conquistadores

Welcome cocktail at Posada Del Hidago Hotel; lunch

Stroll around historic El Fuerte Town Square, City Hall, visit El Fuerte Museum

Imagine the battles between the Spanish Conquerors and the Mayo Indians.

6:00 PM Happy Hour at the hotel's La Palapa Terrace Bar, with El Zorro Performance

Enjoy Great Bird Hunting at Sinolopato Duck & Dove Club.  On an average day a duck hunt can produce more ducks than you would bag all season in the states. Among them are Black-Bellied, Whistling Ducks, Red Heads, Cinnamonm, Green-Winged and Blue-Winged Teal, Gadwalls, Canvasbacks, Ruddy Ducks, Mottled Ducks, Widgeons, Pin Tails, Shovelers, Pacific Black Brant, Scaup, Mexican Mallards, Blue Bills.  Mourning Dove and White Wing Dove come in large flights and feed on crops and get water from multiple ponds.

Aboard the “Chepe” Deluxe Train you will travel through Copper Canyon, truly one of the most charming regions of México.
