Lake Aguamilpa is located up the Nayarit’s Mountain chain, 30 miles northeast of Tepic, at an elevation of more than 2,600 feet above sea level. This lake is home to colorful parrots and many exotic creatures, as well as four beautiful waterfalls. The lake also has Cayman in the rivers. It is 70 miles long with 330 miles of shoreline and a lot of coves. Lake Aguamilpa is hands down one of the most beautiful lakes and is one of the best Mexico bass fishing lakes in the world. The lake record is 14 lbs 6 oz. To date, anglers can expect to catch 50-100 bass per boat per day. ​ 

 

Most Mexico bass fishing anglers use traditional bass fishing methods; but fly fishing is also popular.

There is only 1 lodge on the lake and it has room for 33  anglers.

Lake Aguamilpa is full of Florida strain bass averaging in the 5 to 9 pound range. A few 10 to 12 pounders have been caught. The lodge furnishes boats/guides, 2 rods (bring your own reels), lodging, all meals, and international drinks.

*The best way to get here from the US is to fly straight to Tepic Airport (TPQ).  on American, Delta. or Aero Mexico just 45 minutes from the lake where our driver will pick you up.

.*Flights to Tepic will be available as of Jan 1, 2025; possibly even as soon as December 1, 2024.

​​Or you can fly to Mazatlan MZT, Puerta Vallarta (PVR) or Guadalajara (GDL) by several other airlines where the lodge will have one of their drivers meet you as you arrive. all 3 airports are approximately 3 to 3 1/2 hours to the lake.​

If you fly to Guadalajara you can stop at one of the largest tequila factories and have lunch at several restestaurants in all of Mexico on your way to the lodge.
